Suicide attack foiled in J&K, 5 killed
Three militants of Pakistan-based Lashker-e-Taiba outfit were killed when the Army foiled their attempt to storm the headquarters of 21-Rashtriya Rifles in Kupwara district in north Kashmir on Tuesday, a defence spokesman said.

Two Army personnel were also killed in the gunfight at the main gate of the camp at Bagatpora in Zachaldara area, the spokesman said.
The militants travelling in a private car forced their way into the headquarters around 11.30 am but their vehicle got struck near the main gate due to a hurdle set up by the security forces, the spokesman said.
Soon the militants started firing on the nearby picket targeting troops, causing serious injuries to two jawans who later succumbed to their injuries, he added.
Troops eliminated the trio in the retaliatory action, the spokesman said adding they have been identified as Abu Bakar and Abu Fittar of the Lashkar outfit.
A large quantity of arms and ammunition were recovered from the killed mlitants.
