Coimbatore, Apr 01: Tirupur Exporters' Association (Tea) today welcomed the annual Exim Policy, terming it as innovative, liberal and with a clear export bias. Continuation of Depb, advance licence, EPCG schemes and removal of Qr on 69 products were all trade facilitation measures which would have a direct bearing on the exports, tea president a Shaktivel said here in a statement. Adding seven more clusters to the existing three clusters under the ambit of commerce ministry's purview for the purpose of priority funding was incredible, he said.

The association also welcomed the simplification and rationalisation of various provisions, which would bring down the transaction costs and time. The supportive measures embedded in the policy should give momentum to the export growth, both in the short as well as the long term, Shaktivel added.
