Mumbai, Sep 01: A bomb squad today searched the Times of India building in South Mumbai following telephone calls that bombs had been planted in the premises. However, the calls proved to be a hoax, Chief Security Manager of Times Group G P Varghese told a news agency here. Sniffer dogs were pressed into service to search the building but no suspicious object was found, police said. The Times Group received two telephone calls this morning at 7.30 am and 9.35 am saying the bombs had been planted. The first caller claimed to be the notorious sandalwood smuggler Veerapan. The second call was anonymous, Varghese said. "We called the police and the sniffer dogs were pressed into service. The entire building was searched. However, no explosive device was found," he added.
