Patna, Nov 12: The railway recruitment board would hold examination for Group-D posts afresh for students who could not participate in the test in Assam last Sunday due to reported assault on them by the locals, Railway Minister Nitish Kumar said here today. "We will hold exams for Group-D posts afresh for those students who complained of having been denied appearance during Sunday's recruitment test in Assam," Kumar told journalists while reacting to reports of students vandalising railway property and assaulting officials at Katihar to protest the alleged manhandling of candidates from Bihar appearing for the examination in Assam. The test will now be organised under Katihar division in Bihar, Kumar said describing the incident as 'unfortunate'. Several candidates appearing for the test organised by the Guwahati railway recruitment board were allegedly assaulted and prevented from participating in the examination triggering protest by students from Bihar since Monday.
