Chandigarh, Oct 11: Punjab assembly today took up for discussion an official resolution on the issue of paddy procurement. The special session of the assembly has been summoned by the Amarinder Singh government to discuss the Centre's alleged insensitivity towards paddy growers. The state government has been strongly protesting against the "delayed" procurement of paddy and no hike in the MSP.
The resolution was moved by the state's food and supplies minister Lal Singh. The house ruled that only official resolution would be discussed, thus rejecting the non-official resolution submitted by the opposition sad-BJP to the speaker Kewal Krishen yesterday. Bureau Report
