New Delhi, Feb 13: Amid mounting speculation that Indian cricket teams' Pakistan tour might get postponed, Union Minister of State, Youth Affairs and Sports, Vijay Goel, said a final decision would be taken only after the return of the three-member BCCI delegation from Pakistan. Goel also made it clear that security of the cricketers would be the top most priority while deciding the fate of the tour.
A three-member Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) delegation, comprising BCCI joint secretary Ratnakar Shetty, its director (communication) Amrit Mathur and Inspector General of Police Yasovardhan Azad, are presently in Pakistan assessing all the aspects, especially the security arrangements, of the tour.
His ministry was well aware of the apprehensions of the players' families regarding the cricketers' security and all these aspects would be considered before taking a final decision, Goel said. The ministry was also keeping a close watch on the developments in this regard, a release from his ministry said here today. Bureau Report
