The Election Commission has ordered re-polling in seven polling stations in five assembly seats in three districts of Uttar Pradesh following reports of poll related violence in the first phase of polling in the state on Thursday, state election directorate said in Lucknow on Friday. The EC has ordered re-polling on three polling stations each in Muzaffarnagar and Moradabad districts and one in Rampur, the election directorate said adding that the re-poll would be held on February 16.
In Muzaffarnagar, re-poll has been ordered on two polling stations of Kandala constituency and one of Thana bhawan while in Moradabad, re-poll would be held on two polling stations of Kanth constituency and one of Chandausi constituency. The second phase of polling for 145 assembly seats in the state is scheduled for February 18 while the final phase of polling for 166 seats will be held on February 21.
