Nagpur, Nov 23: A befitting tribute was paid today to the Wright Brothers on the occasion of centenary celebration of their first manned flight as IAF aircraft presented an enthralling show of aerobatics here. The Air Race India 2003 witnessed a grand finale when choppers Chetak, Jaguars, Sukhoi 30 and mirages and the Surya Kiran team displayed a complete command over flying machines.

Organised by Aeronautical Society of India and co-ordinated by Indian Air Force, the Air Race witnessed 43 aircarft including choppers completing the race here yesterday after they were flagged off on November 19 from Barrackpore (East), Bangalore (South) and Goa (West).
Various types of aircraft including microlight, power hang gliders, Cessna aircraft besides Chetak and Cheeta helicopters participated. The participants were drawn from IAF, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, NCC, private Aero Sports Club and individuals.

The air show started with Chetak chopper dropping rose petals on invitees followed by three choppers carrying insignia of Indian tri-colour, air force and ASI.
