New Delhi, July 18: India's largest telephony service operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) on Friday signed an agreement with Sri Lanka Telecom for establishing telecom link between the two countries. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by BSNL chairman and managing director Prithipal Singh and SLT chief executive offer Shuhel Anan.
The two companies will jointly study and examine the business, technical, regulatory, legal and other relevant aspects of establishing the link between BSNL in India and SLT in Sri Lanka, a BSNL press release said.
While BSNL has world's seventh largest telecom network, SLT is the integrated leader of Sri Lanka with a market share of 87 per cent in fixed line telephones and third largest mobile operator in the island nation. Bureau Report
