Islamabad, June 08: A Pakistan court has set free a film actress from protective custody after she accused her parents of levelling false allegations of her alleged attempts to marry a Hindu boy to cover up their attempts to force her into "immoral" activities. Noor, was set free by Lahore district and sessions court yesterday after she blamed her parents for forcibly detaining her at home to force her to indulge in "immoral activities".
She was earlier "freed" from the house detention and sent to a protective custody in a welfare centre.
Noor, whose real name was Sara Bokhari has alleged that her parents Shahid Hussain Bokhari and Mumtaz Bokhari have been enjoying her earnings from the films for 14 years.
But they attempted to forces her to earn money by "other means" as her income fell due fall in her film contracts.
Noor said she was forcibly detained by her parents at home after she refused to oblige them. She accused them of threatening murder and disfigure her, 'The Nation' quoted her as telling the court.
Her parents however denied this and accused her of attempting to marry a Hindu boy in Dubai.
They pointed out Noor's statement was a 'concocted story' meant to get a licence from the court to proceed to Dubai where she had married a Hindu boy, Vikram, against the will of her parents.
Noor reportedly denied that she planned to marry the boy.
After hearing Noor's deposition, the court set the actress free stating that she was permitted to go wherever she wanted. She reportedly went along with a 'friend'.
