New Delhi, July 30: India and Bangladesh are in discussion over exchange of enclaves in accordance with the terms of the land boundary agreement of 1974, Lok Sabha was informed today.
While it was not possible to give a time-frame for effecting the exchange of enclaves due to the on-going bilateral talks, the discussions were continuing through the mechanism of the two joint boundary working groups, minister of state for external affairs Digvijay Singh said during question hour.
Governments of India and Bangladesh had in 2001 set up these two groups to resolve all pending issues relating to the implementation of the land boundary agreement, including exchange of enclaves.
The two sides had decided to continue discussions through these groups, he added.
