New Delhi, Nov 09: Deciding to go it alone in the assembly elections in four states, Janata Dal (United) today released a list of 63 candidates, including 21 in Delhi, for the December 01 polls.
According to the list cleared by party president Sharad Yadav, 21 candidates each would be fighting elections from Delhi and Chattisgarh.
Though BJP, a major partner of the NDA, had favoured a joint contest, last minute differences with it made JD-U field its candidates on its own without any electoral understanding with other NDA partners. In Madhya Pradesh, the party has so far released the name of 18 candidates while in Rajasthan names of three more candidates were released today.
The party had earlier released a list of nine candidates for Rajasthan, 10 for Madhya Pradesh and 29 for Mizoram.
The Delhi list contains only two woman candidates. While Neelam would contest from Bhawana (reserved) seat, Anthu Jatav would contest from Hindon (SC). Bureau Report
