Bangalore, Sept 19: The chief minister S M Krishna has convened an emergency meeting of the state cabinet today to discuss the situation arising out of yesterday’s incident. Krishna had also held a meeting with home minister Mallikarjun Kharge and Patil on the issue.
Moreover, release of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu from the Kabini reservoir in Mysore district was stopped yesterday night following the incident of a Gram Panchayat member jumping into the river who is yet to be traced.
Beechanahalli Gram Panchayat member Guruswamy had jumped into the river along with four others. Guruswamy is however, reported to be dead. Bureau Report
