New Delhi, Jan 29: The two persons accused of
breaching Prime Minister`s security by entering his cavalcade
last night were today remanded to police custody for a day.
Metropolitan Magistrate Chandrashekhar remanded accused
Ashok Kumar and Dhare Singh to police custody till tomorrow
after the prosecution submitted that further interrogation was
necessary to unravel their links.
The court directed the concerned SHO to produce the
accused before it at 3 pm tomorrow.
Meanwhile, the court also turned down an application moved by the prosecution to get the accused identified by the sole eyewitness to the incident.
The counsel for the accused opposed the plea saying their faces were already shown on news channels and hence they would not like to join the test identification parade.
Later recording their statements before the magistrate, the accused Ashok admitted that he was driving the car and that Dhare was on the rear seat.
