Lucknow, June 13: The condition of the ailing chief of the Ram Janmabhoom Trust, Mahant Ram Chandra Paramahans Das, is stable but still critical, hospital sources said here today. The Mahant had a good night's rest, but he was still not out of danger, sources said Paramhans, who suffered a massive heart attack yesterday in Ayodhya, was later flown here and admitted to the Sanjay Gandhi Post-Graduate Institute.

The Mahant is under observation and the next 24 hours are critical for him, sources said.

VHP international president Ashok Singhal and Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Swami Chinmayanand called at the hospital, the sources added.
