Stamp paper scam: Police raid Krishna Yadav`s houses
Hyderabad, Sept 19: A special investigation team of Maharashtra Police, investigating into the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam, is conducting searches at the houses of TDP MLA and former minister C Krishna Yadav here to further probe his involvement in the racket.

The raids, which began last night at the scam-tainted legislator's residence at the MLA quarters at Hyderguda and another house at Lal Darwaza in old city, will continue today, police sources said.
During the raids, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police P R Choudhary, some documents were seized, sources said. Yadav, who is now in police custody in Pune, is likely to be produced before the designated court there tomorrow.
Soon after their arrival from Maharashtra, the SIT team met the state Director General of Police S R Sukumara, city Police Commissioner M V Krishna Rao and the state CID officials before going ahead with search operations.
The MLA's brother Mahender Yadav and other family members were questioned about his financial dealings, sources said adding, Andhra Police is assisting the SIT team in the search operations. Maharashtra Police is on the lookout for Yadav's associates to ascertain their role in the racket.
Yadav, who represents Himayatnagar constituency in the city, was arrested by Maharashtra police on September 6 following a "clinching evidence" in the form of an audio-tape believed to be containing his conversation with the kingpin of the racket Abdul Kareem Telgi. Bureau Report
