Stamp paper scam: Sharma`s remand extended till Feb 23
Pune, Feb 13: A special court today extended till February 23 the judicial custody of former Mumbai police commissioner R S Sharma arrested in connection with the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam.

Sharma, who was produced before the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) judge b n deshpande, looked visibly crestfallen and did not utter a single word during the proceedings.
Around 55 accused will also be produced in the court on February 23.
He was arrested by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on December 1 last year, a day after retirement, for alleged ''omissions and commissions'' in his capacity as the Pune police chief when the scam surfaced.
More than a dozen police officers, including suspended joint commissioner Sridhar Vagal, suspended deputy commissioner of police Pradip Sawant, have been arrested in the case till date.
