HC stays trial court proceedings against Solanki in Bofors case
New Delhi, Aug 14: The Delhi high court today stayed trial court proceedings against senior Congress leader and former External Affairs Minister Madhavsingh Solanki in the Bofors case.

The trial court had asked him to file a reply to a CBI plea seeking initiation of criminal proceedings against him for allegedly attempting to "scuttle" the probe into the Rs 64 crore pay-off case.
Justice J D Kapoor, who stayed trial court proceedings against Solanki, also issued notice to the CBI on his petition seeking quashing of trial court proceedings.
The court asked the CBI to file reply to Solanki's petition by September 23, the next date of hearing.
Special Judge Prem Kumar had on July 29 directed Solanki to file his reply to CBI's allegation that he had attempted to mislead the Swiss authorities who were executing a letter rogatory seeking assistance in the Bofors probe.
