Militants on Friday made an unsuccessful attempt to blow up the office of the District Commissioner of Doda in Jammu division by hurling a grenade which missed the target and exploded without causing any damage, police sources said. Militants lobbed a grenade on the DC's office on Friday morning but it fell near the post of sentry and exploded. No one was injured nor any damage was caused by the explosion, the sources said.
Soon after the blast, the CRPF jawan posted at the office opened fire in retaliation but militants escaped, they said, adding, police and security forces later cordoned off the area and launched search operations to nab the culprits.
