Burning of a religious book, documents and property at a mosque, allegedly by some miscreants trigerred tension at Pander village, 70 km from Bhilwara, on Monday, a senior police official said in Jaipur. Two wooden almirahs containing a copy of the Quran, some religious documents and a carpet, were found burnt and two wall clocks damaged in a room of the mosque, the official said.
In his FIR, the Moulvi of the mosque said five youths had taken shelter in the building on Sunday midnight due to heavy rain and he suspected their hand in the incident. Police has registered a case of trespassing, arson and damage to religious place and is investigating, he said.
The moulvi, hailing from Nepal, was also being interrogated, the official added Bureau Report
