In their second attempt to "purify" spots which Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf had visited during his one-day visit to the Capital last week, the Shiv Sainiks on Friday morning went to the Neharwali haveli to complete their shuddhi (cleansing) ritual.
Matia Mahal MLA, Shoaib Iqbal said, "They came at about 6.30 am and brought water and milk in an earthen pitcher. They also carried some flowers, which they sprinkled in the main courtyard of the haveli. They came in stealthily in the wee hours of the morning and fled before even the residents awoke. In fact, not many people noticed the Sainiks' presence."
The Sainiks, numbering between 15 and 20, reportedly sprinkled Ganga jal, flowers and milk in the courtyard of the haveli, mumbled some holy words, broke a pitcher and left.
