Sanabad (MP), Nov 21: Congress president Sonia Gandhi today accused the BJP of failing to keep its promise to provide a clean government at the Centre and said it had again been exposed by the Judeo bribery scandal. "The day is not far and people should not wonder when the party which is doing politics in the name of religion by raising the slogan of 'Jai Sri Ram' would raise the slogan of 'jai sri bhrashtachar," she said at an election rally here.
Referring to the Judeo scandal, she said had there been no assembly polls in Chhattisgarh and other states, he too would have been given promotion by BJP as was done with those involved in the Tehelka expose. (indicating reinduction of George Fernandes into Union Cabinet.)
"The forthcoming polls in Chhattisgarh have forced BJP to take the resignation of Judeo," Sonia said.
Appealing to voters to vote in favour of her party, she claimed that Congress governments in different states had functioned according to promises made in their manifestos.
Admitting that there was a power crisis in the state, she said it was more due to carving out of Chhattisgarh and also allege that the Centre was not cooperating with Madhya Pradesh in this regard.
