New Delhi, Dec 05: Amid introduction of new unified access licencing regime in the country, the private basic operators increased their mobile subscriber base to 57.69 lakh during November with reliance alone accounting for 52.13 lakh WLL subscribers. According to the latest subscriber data released by Association of Basic Telecom Operators (ABTO), WLL subscriber base of two state-owned companies Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam stood at eight lakh and 1.30 lakh respectively during the period in reference.
BSNL's wireline subscriber base was pegged at 3.4 crore while that of MTNL was 44.75 lakh.
The private basic operators, on the other hand, had 10.10 lakh wireline subscribers, 7.81 lakh WLL (fixed) users and 57.69 lakh WLL (mobile) users during November.
Reliance, operating in 17 circles including Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh raised its mobile subscriber base of its WLL (M) service to 52.13 lakh in November from 47.54 lakh in the previous month.
Its wireline and wireless subscribers base combined stood at 54.59 lakh during November.
The total subscriber base of Sunil Mittal promoted Bharti group across wireline and WLL (fixed) services rose to 5.44 lakh, according to ABTO statement.
