MCC attack power sub-station in Bihar
Arwal, June 09: Heavily-armed activists of the outlawed naxalite outfit MCC tried to blow up a power sub-station and burnt a crane and a truck belonging to Bihar state hydro-electric power corporation at a village in Arwal district, police said today.
Arwal, June 09: Heavily-armed activists of the outlawed naxalite outfit MCC tried to blow up a power sub-station and burnt a crane and a truck belonging to Bihar state hydro-electric power corporation at a village in Arwal district, police said today.
They said that the under-construction power sub-station, situated at Agnoor village under Kaler police station, was partially damaged in the explosions triggered by MCC late last night, Superintendent of Police Amitabh Das said.
On receiving the information, police rushed to the spot and an encounter took place, lasting for over half-an-hour, in which one constable received minor injuries, he said.
The Arwal police has launched a massive combing operation along with neighbouring Aurangabad police to nab the militants, he said.
A police picket would be set up at Agnoor, he added.
