England, July 07: South Africa all-rounder Jacques Kallis is determined to return to play for Glamorgan one day. Kallis is currently touring with South Africa, as the Proteas compete against Zimbabwe and hosts England in the NatWest Series.
South Africa beat Zimbabwe by nine wickets in Cardiff on Saturday to book their place in the final, and playing back at Sophia Gardens evoked some pleasant memories for Kallis. The 27-year-old from Cape Town spent the 1999 season as Glamorgan's overseas player, having already had a season in English cricket with Middlesex.
"The Glamorgan boys are a good bunch and I've made some good friends there," Kallis said. It was in Wales that Kallis found a home away from home, mirrored in the impressive form he showed that season.
With the bat Kallis averaged 96.80 runs in the National League and 40.22 in the County Championship, with his bowling also flourishing.
"I'm certainly looking forward to doing another year with Glamorgan, I totally enjoyed my year with them." the ace all-rounder said.
