Srinagar, Feb 14: In a bizzare incident, militants disarmed five policemen guarding a vital road communication link, robbed a banker of Rs seven lakh and abducted two persons in Kashmir Valley since last evening, an official spokesmen said here today. Ultras snatched five self-loading rifles, eight magazines and 280 rounds from policemen guarding a bridge at Kahroo-Langate in the frontier district of Kupwara last night, the spokesman said. The policemen belonging to 12th battalion of Jammu and Kashmir police are being questioned.

The spokesman said some masked gunmen intercepted Kokernag branch manager of J&K Bank travelling in his private vehicle at Palpore-Dayalgam and robbed him of Rs seven lakh which he was carrying for despositing in Saddar treasury in Anantnag district of south Kashmir today.

Police picked up the body of Bashmir Ahmed Tantray from Bangle area in Bandipore in Baramulla. Tantray and Abdul Majid Lone of Bonkote village had been abducted by militants last evening. The fate of lone was not known, the spokesman said.
