New Delhi, June 14: Delhi Police have registered one more case of dowry death in the capital and arrested the husband and in-laws of the woman in this connection. Police arrested Anand Kumar Singh, husband of Kajal along with his parents Bir Bahadur Singh, head of department of genetics department at IARI, Pusa, and Kanak Lata yesterday from Pusa area on the orders of a sub-divisional magistrate who had carried out an enquiry into the report of a "suicide" by the woman, police sources said. A call was received by police on June 9 that Kajal, who married to Anand in January this year, had committed suicide by hanging herself, they said.
Investigations were carried out by the SDM during which Kajal's parents alleged that she was being tortured for not getting a Tata Qualis car. Subsequently, the report was released yesterday on the basis of which the case was registered and the arrests made, they added. Bureau Report
