Baripada (Orissa), Oct 20: About 2,000 tribals today disrupted traffic on the NH-6 for over six hours at Bisoi, about 45 km from here, demanding a crime branch inquiry into the recent murder of two teen-aged boys in the nearby Luhakani village.
The tribals, supporters of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), who carried bows and arrows, gheraoed the Bisoi Police Station demanding release of three innocent persons arrested in connection with the murder.
They resorted to dharna and road blockade to press for their demands which included institution of crime branch inquiry into the murder and suspension of the officer-in- charge of concerned police station. Two boys, Jura Singh (nine) and Radhu Nayak (11) of the village were murdered after being kidnapped for ransom from the village on October 3 last.
Police had retrieved their decomposed bodies five days later. Three persons had been arrested in connection with the crime and were forwarded to the court on October 12 last.
However, the villagers objected to their arrest while demanding that the real culprits should be nabbed.
The road blockade was later lifted following intervention of senior district officials. Bureau Report
