New Delhi, Sept 24: Government today released 11.5 lakh tonnes of sugar for the month of October 2003. For November and December, 10.5 and 10 lakh tonnes of sugar has been allocated for indigenous free sale, an official release said today.

With a levy quota of 2.15 lakh tonnes released for each of the three months, the total availability of sugar will be 13.66, 12.66 and 12.16 lakh tonnes respectively for the three months. The free sale quotas were meant for domestic consumption only. If required, government would further release the quota as sugar stocks were enough, the release said. Bureau Report
