JD corporator, two others held under MCOCA in Malegaon
Nasik, June 22: Three notorious criminals, including a Janata Dal corporator of Malegaon Municipal Corporation (MMC) were arrested last evening at malegaon in the district under Maharashtra Control of Organised Crimes Act (MCOCA) for their alleged involvement of extortion games for money, police said here today.

The three arrested - the first such arrest in the district under MCOCA - are JD (Secular) MMC corporator Ahmed Nazir Ahmed alias Ajij Lallu, Shaikh Jakir Shaikh Jumman and Khalil Ahmed Abdul Kadir, Special Inspector General of police (Nasik range) Khanderao Shinde said.
Ajij Lallu, who had contested and won the MMC elections on Janata Dal (S) ticket from inside the jail, alongwith other criminals was held for extortion and threatening rich people, especially doctors, for money.
Their activities were on rise in the powerloom town of Malegaon prompting Shinde to issue orders three days ago to arrest them under MCOCA. There were several complaints registered against Lallu for extortion.
