Heavy rains continue to lash Mumbai
Mumbai, June 20: Heavy rains accompanied by strong winds continued to lash the city for the third day today, inundating low-lying areas and partially paralysing rail and road traffic during the morning peak hours.

Movement of rail traffic on central, western and harbour lines were restricted for an hour due to water logging of the tracks.
Due to inundation of tracks at Matunga Road and Andheri on the western line and Wadala and Sewree on harbour central line, trains were running behind schedule, railway sources said.
Water logging was reported in King`s Circle, Milan Subway, Andheri-Kurla Road and Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg in the suburbs, because of which road traffic was moving at a snail`s pace causing inconvenience for the office-goers.
Several schools declared a holiday due to the rains.

In the last 24 hours, till 8am, Colaba recorded 93.2 mm rainfall while Santa Cruz received 158.8 mm rains.
The weather bureau has predicted heavy to very heavy rains with gusty winds at the speed of 40-45kmp in the next 24hours.
