Multan, Mar 30: Pakistan ended the third day on bad note with wicket on last bowl of Sachin Tendulkar. Moin Khan was bowled off his legs by the little master. At stumps was Abdul Razaaq unbeaten on 47. Pakistan are still 311 runs behind India’s first innings total of 675/6. Pakistani still needs to make 111 to save the follow on. Pakistan saw the best of Indian pacers when they came out to bat on the third day of Multan Test. Trailing by 596 runs Pakistan finished the third day at 364 for six wickets.

Pakistan resumed at the overnight score of 42 for no loss on after India declared their first innings at 675 for five. Openers Imran Farhat and Taufeeq Umar seemed set for some gritty batting as Farhat clobbered Zaheer Khan for two consecutive boundaries in the opening over of the morning.
But it was again young Irfan Pathan who got the breakthrough getting Umar to nick the ball to Dravid at slips. Umar scored 23 runs facing 79 deliveries.
Lakshmipathy Balaji brought into the attack, struck immediately, getting Farhat (38) leg before in his very first over. The home team was down two wickets in the first hour of play.
The two quick wickets spurred the Indian bowlers who went flat out in a bid to get a couple of more wickets during the session and put the home team under considerable pressure.
But the in-form batsmen Hameed and Inzamam stonewalled the Indian charge by initially playing watchfully and then opening up to hit some elegant shots on both sides of the wicket to take the score beyond the 100-run mark in the 38th over. Stand-in captain Dravid introduced his trumpcard Anil Kumble immediately after the drinks break but both Hameed and Inzamam had no difficulty in negotiating the seasoned leg spinner.
Hameed was not afraid to go after Kumble and played a delectable glide to the third man boundary while the burly Inzamam also produced a superb straight drive off the same bowler to the long off boundary.
With both the batsmen punishing the loose deliveries, the Pakistan scoring rate improved to a great extent in the second hour of play as the home team put on 95 runs in the session.
