Palo Alto, California, July 24: Fourth seed Daniela Hantuchova's recent run of poor form continued when she was sent packing 6-2 6-4 by Amy Frazier in the second round of the Bank of the West Classic.
Third seed Jennifer Capriati overcame a strong challenge from French teenager Marion Bartoli for a 6-2 4-6 6-1 victory yesterday while Yugoslavia's Jelena Dokic trounced American Alexandra Stevenson 6-3 6-2.
The slender Hantuchova, who has failed to reach a semi-final since April, played a sloppy contest against the 30-year-old American.
Frazier dominated most of their baseline exchanges and effectively moved the 20-year-old Slovakian around the court.
''I was really happy with the way I hit my groundstrokes and how I was able to take control of the points,'' Frazier said.

Hantuchova has come under criticism for her extremely frail physique and her doubles partner Capriati believes it has affected her play.

''I think everything was going fine for her until there was all that talk about her weight and modelling,'' Capriati said.

''It's inevitable that it's going to get you. She has to try to not let it get into her head and try her hardest to block it out.''

But Hantuchova disagreed and said: ''Once on court and it's up to me 100 percent and I think I have proved that I'm physically fine with all the long matches that I've played.

''It's just that last year when I was playing so well I was new and was the hunter. Now I'm the hunted one.''
