Los Angeles, Dec 12: The Los Angeles Clippers pulled a last second 100-99 win over the visiting Dallas Mavericks.
In Los Angeles, Glen Rice hit a 15-foot jumper at the full-time buzzer to give the Clippers a narrow win over the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday (December 11). Corey Maggette scored 30 points to lead the Clippers, while Chris Wilcox had 21 points and Elton Brand chipped in 18 points and 10 rebounds. Michael Finley had 38 points to lead Dallas, while Antoine Walker had 21 points and 10 assists. Dirk Nowitzki, returning from the injured list, was overshadowed as he played just 24 points and scored nine points. Rice's shot won the game for the Clippers after they had trailed by as many as 22 points and had not led since a 5-4 advantage in the first quarter.

The Mavericks had a chance to take a three-point lead with 12 seconds left, but Steve Nash missed a pair of free throws to keep the score 99-98 and cap a frustrating night.

Nash shot just 2-of-12 from the field and 1-of-3 from the line. Corey Maggette sprained his ankle in the second quarter but came back to play in the second half and led the Clippers with 30 points. Michael Finley scored a season-high 38 for Dallas.

Finley messed up for Dallas when he slapped the ball right to Rice as he tried to clear out the rebound from Maggette's failed layup attempt.
