Raipur, June 05: Opposition BJP today demanded the dismissal of Congress government headed by Ajit Jogi in the state following the killing of NCP's Chhattisgarh unit treasurer Ram Avtar Jaggi.
The BJP also demanded arrest of Jogi and his son Amit for their alleged involvement in the murder. Jaggi was shot dead by some unidentified persons near Mohdapara police station here last night.
After the police report, registered by Jaggi's son Satish against Jogi and his son mentioning their alleged threat, the Chief Minister had lost all rights to continue in power, leader of opposition in state assembly Nand Kumar Sai said in a statement here.
The BJP leader also accused Jogi of being involved in politics of terror and said “adopting undemocratic procedures against political enemies is not good for democracy”.
Condemning the killing of NCP leader, Sai said it was a pre-planned conspiracy to create terror among the people just before the state assembly polls.
Meanwhile, CPCC president Ramanuj Lal Yadav and others, in a joint statement, said within 24 hours of the killing, the demands by NCP leader V C Shukla reflected that some leaders wanted to take political mileage out of it by politicising the entire issue.
