New delhi, Aug 01: The recent massacre of over 50 Shias in an attack on a mosque in Quetta was "sectarian terrorism" enacted by Pakistan's Intelligence Agencies and the military establishment to divert people's minds from issues of democracy, a leading Shia leader, who is part of the ruling Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), has said. Stating that he was foreseeing a "horrible picture", he said the people could revolt leading to a repeat of 1971 when Pakistan disintegrated. "The killing of Shias was masterminded by the agencies and the (military) establishment to create a chaotic and anarchic situation so that the people can never concentrate on issues like democracy and governance," Allama Sajid Naqvi, Chief of Pakistan Islami Tehrik, said in an interview to 'the Friday Times'. The Tehrik is a partner in the six-party MMA coalition. "The quetta carnage is absolutely an act of sectarian terrorism masterminded by Pakistani agencies. To blame it on external forces is shameful," he was quoted as saying by the weekly. Bureau Report
