Paris, May 05: Brazilian ace Ronaldinho's late penalty yesterday gave Paris Saint-Germain a 2-1 win over Monaco, putting the losing side back to third place. Defending champion Lyon stays top after its 4-0 win over Strasbourg on Saturday put it two ahead of Marseille and three clear of Monaco - which would have reclaimed top spot had it beaten PSG.

Monaco started brightly and took the lead through striker Shabani Nonda in the 40th minute. Moving into position to collect an under-hit pass from strike partner Dado Prso, Nonda was perhaps surprised to see PSG defender Parralo Cristobal miss the ball - leaving him free to beat goalie Jerome Alonzo with a low shot into the left corner.

The goal, Nonda's 20th of the season, ties him with Portugal's Pauleta at the top of the scoring charts. PSG's Fabrice Fiorese, without a goal all year, levelled in the 58th minute - collecting Frederic Dehu's pass 12 yards out and drilling a low shot past goalie Flavio Roma.

The Paris side was then awarded a penalty 15 minutes from time, when Monaco defender Patrice Evra fouled substitute Alioune Toure.
