Baghdad, May 24: The US military said it will release more than 400 prisoners on Friday from the Abu Ghraib jail, which is at the centre of an international scandal over detainee abuse by US soldiers. Brig Gen Mark Kimmitt, speaking to reporters on Monday, did not say exactly how many prisoners will be released.
The military periodically releases detainees from the prison on the western outskirts of Baghdad.
