New Delhi, Nov 10: Sports Minister Vikram Verma today congratulated top golfer Arjun Atwal for his triumph in the Hero Honds Masters Championship held at the Delhi Golf and Coutry Club course here. The masters, an Asian PGA tour event, in one of the most prestigious championships held in the country.

"I congratulate you for winning your second masters title and becoming the first Asian to reach dollar one-million in earnings. This signals a new era for India," Verma said in a message here.

Minister of State for Sports Vijay Goel also conveyed his appreciation for the feat achieved by Atwal and said his win would give a new perspective to Indian golf. Bureau Report
