Thiruvananthapuram, Nov 27: State banks staff union today expressed concern at the move to give government business to private and new generation banks which had so far been handled by SBI and subsidiaries. The move to involve private banks in handling government business would have adverse consequences to the state as well as the people, SBI staff union general secretary V G Sidhardhan said in a statement here.
The union wanted the central and state government to give up the thinking in this direction.
