LA, June 28: Chris Penn is in final negotiations to make his first foray into series television starring opposite Randy Quaid and John Carroll Lynch in David E. Kelley's new CBS drama "The Brotherhood of Poland, N.H." The series centers on the three Shaw brothers (Quaid, Lynch, Penn), who face midlife challenges in the small town of Poland, N.H. Penn will play unemployed youngest brother Waylon Shaw, a lovable optimist who is married and has a teen daughter. Ann Cusack and Angela Goethals play his wife and daughter, respectively.
In the original pilot, Waylon was played by Brian Haley, who was let go this month after Kelley decided to reconceive the character. "Brotherhood" is slated to air in the Wednesday 10 p.m. slot in the fall.
Penn's credits include the features "True Romance," "Reservoir Dogs," "The Funeral" and "Short Cuts." His upcoming projects include "Starsky & Hutch," "Palindromes" and "Masked & Anonymous."
