Ahmedabad, Oct 03: Gujarat Police today filed chargesheets under Pota against seven more persons for their alleged role in the Sabarmati train carnage at Godhra that claimed the lives of 58 Ram sevaks on February 27 last year. The accused persons are Shoaib Yusuf Ahmed Kalida, Habib alias Bastah bin Yamin Behra, Rafiq Ahmed, Raul Amin Hussain Hathila (an advocate by profession), shaukhat alias Bhano, Farouk Ahmed Sattat Patadi and Siddique Mohammed Moora.

Prosecution sources told newspersons that the accused were booked under Pota, several sections of the IPC and the Indian Railways Act for their role in the conspiracy that led to the torching of the S-6 bogey of the Sabarmati Express.
Some of these accused persons were allegedly part of the core group that hatched the conspiracy along with Maulvi Hussain Umarji, identified as the prime conspirator by the Special Investigating Team (SIT) of the railway police probing the train carnage while some were part of the mob that torched the bogey, prosecution sources said.

The SIT is yet to arrest at least 48 more persons wanted in this case including Mehboob alias Lathika, Farouk Bhana, Siraj Bala and others.
