Sydney, Nov 26: Cricket fans today rushed to outlets to buy tickets to personally farewell Australian captain Steve Waugh in his final Test. The 38-year-old cricket legend announced today he would retire from international cricket in January after the fourth Test against India, before his home crowd at the Sydney cricket ground.
A spokesman for New South Wales cricket said 2,258 tickets to the first day of the Sydney Test were sold soon after the announcement, compared to the 125 purchased the previous day.
The fourth Test takes place from January 2 to 6.
