NCP changes stand, says open to simultaneous polls in Maharashtra
Mumbai, Jan 29: In a shift from its earlier stance, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), a key partner in the Democratic Front (DF) government in Maharashtra, today said it was ``open`` to discussion over holding simultaneous polls to the Lok Sabha and state assembly.

Addressing a press conference here, party spokesman Vasant Chavan
said though his outfit was keen on the Congress-led DF government
completing its full term till September, Chief Minister Sushilkumar
Shinde has been holding talks with NCP president Sharad Pawar and
other leaders on holding simultaneous polls in the state.
