Chandigarh, Nov 02: Haryana government has formulated a Rs 423 crore scheme to improve the availability of drinking water in Mewat area of the state, Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala said today. Addressing a public meeting after inaugurating a water works constructed at a cost of Rs 93.22 lakh at Kharak Khurd in Bhiwani district, he reiterated the commitment of his government to provide adequate drinking and irrigation water to the people in rural areas, an official release said here.
Chautala said a Livestock Development Board had been set up to encourage farmers to rear cattle.
