Ahmedabad, Nov 19: The special Pota Court today
deferred for November 21 arguments on an application
challenging the imposition of anti-terror law on 21 people,
allegedly involved in executing "tiffin bomb" blasts in five
buses in the city on may 29 last year injuring 13.
The application filed by advocate M I Laliwala was
admitted by Pota Judge Sonia Gokani who deferred it for
November 21.
Laliwala contended that the "intention of the accused was not to spread terror and at the most it was an act of revenge and an outcome of the post-Godhra violence."
He also said in normal cases, bail could be granted to accused persons but since Pota was slapped there was lesser chance of getting bail from the designated court.
All the 21 people, including five alleged ISI agents, were arrested from different parts of the city since April four. The Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) investigating the case has alleged that the 'tiffin bombs' were made in the city by the accused persons after they received training in terrorist camps in Pakistan.
