Chennai, Feb 17: The PMK on Tuesday refused to exchange the Pondicherry Lok Sabha seat allocated to it by the DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance (DPA) for another seat given to the Congress by the alliance. PMK founder S Ramdoss told at a press conference that there was no question of giving back the seat to the Congress as demanded by that party in Pondicherry. "It is a closed chapter. We don't want to reopen the issue," he said. He said the candidates for all the six Lok Sabha seats, the party had been allotted including the Pondicherry seat, would be announced next week along with the party manifesto. On Pondicherry, he said it was primary responsibility of the Congress to work for the success of the PMK nominee as they want a Congress-led coalition Government headed by Sonia Gandhi at the Centre. "I do not think there will be Congressmen, who will not like to see Sonia Gandhi as the prime minister," he said. He said his party would accept Sonia Gandhi as the next prime minister and would work for the success of the DPA nominees in 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu. Bureau Report
