LS impasse expected to end tomorrow
New Delhi, July 22: The impasse in Lok Sabha over the `dropping` of charge of criminal conspiracy against Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani and HRD minister M M Joshi in the Babri Masjid demolition case is expected to end tomorrow with Speaker Manohar Joshi agreeing to hear admissibility of an adjournment motion on the issue.
New Delhi, July 22: The impasse in Lok Sabha over the "dropping" of charge of criminal conspiracy against Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani and HRD minister M M Joshi in the Babri Masjid demolition case is expected to end tomorrow with Speaker Manohar Joshi agreeing to hear admissibility of an adjournment motion on the issue.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the business advisory committee of the house, Parliament sources said.
The issue had rocked the house for the last two days forcing its adjournment for the day yesterday and today as an unrelenting opposition is demanding dismissal of Advani and Joshi and resignation of the Prime Minister.
Law minister Arun Jaitley will respond to the points raised by the opposition on the admissibility of such a motion.
The house is expected to take a discussion on the Taj corridor controversy either tomorrow or day after. Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee will make a statement on his recent foreign visits, including China, tomorrow.
The house will take up a discussion on Panchayati Raj system on July 24.
