Khulna, Bangladesh, Sept 23: At least three people were killed and many were injured today when two trains collided in western Bangladesh, police said. Railway police and residents said the trains collided near the Noapara station in western Jessore district, 136 kilometers from the Bangladeshi capital Dhaka.
The three victims died instantly while many others were injured, they said, adding that the injured were being treated in hospitals in the area.
No other details were immediately available.
