Normalcy returns to Ayodhya
Ayodhya, Oct 20: Normalcy has returned to this temple town with the `Ram bhakts` beginning to return and additional security forces deployed in the wake of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad`s (VHP) congregation back to the barracks, even as the VHP leadership is now busy chalking out its next course of action.
Ayodhya, Oct 20: Normalcy has returned to this temple town with the 'Ram bhakts' beginning to return and additional security forces deployed in the wake of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad's (VHP) congregation back to the barracks, even as the VHP leadership is now busy chalking out its next course of action.
There were only a couple of hundred Rambhakts left at the VHP office here at Karsevakpuram and long queues were also missing at the makeshift ram temple at the disputed site, official sources said.
Additional security personnel summoned from other districts were being sent back, sources said.
Normal crowds of devotees were now visible in the streets and temples of Ayodhya. The outflow of Rambhakts had gathered momentum with the administration pressing into service additional buses to carry them to their respective destinations, sources said.
VHP international president Ashok Singhal is presently holding meetings with local saints and religious leaders in a bid to solicit their support for the future VHP programmes.
VHP media in-charge Sharad Sharma told a news agency here that Singhal would remain in Ayodhya till tomorrow. He said that a meeting of the local saints and sadhus had been convened at Kanak Bhavan tomorrow which would be addressed by Singhal.
Sharma said the Ayodhya Margdarshak Mandal' formed in July this year would be made active and more local saints and sadhus would be included in it.
